  1. BEARHTML 2.7.6

  3. BEARHTML is middleware sitting between Pegasus Mail and an Html file viewer.  
  4. It is intended as an alternative to HTS in Pegasus Mail for rendering Html message content. 
  5. It is not an editor for preparing Html messages.
  6.  
  7. That being said the installation is simple.
  8.  
  9. 1. Shutdown Pegasus Mail
  10. 2. Copy content of zip into the Pegasus Mail executables directory.
  11. 3. Create an empty file using notepad, called bearhtml.log into the NewMail directory, ie
  12.     C:\pmail\mail\bearhtml.log
  13. 4.  Review/Edit Bearhtml.ini, BearWarn.txt, Bearhlp-xx.htm and BearLang.xx if required (xx= language code) 
  14. 5. Start Pegasus Mail.

  16. What do I see?   Well nothing new (hopefully). For messages in the New Mail folder and in normal message folders that are 
  17. identified as containing Html you should get the message rendered more quickly than before.

  19. Limitations (intended)
  20.  
  21. 1. Scripting languages, either imbedded or remote, such as Javascript are flushed/ignored but the webpage is rendered. 
  22. This affects code that differentiates between browser engines (IE/Firefox). Cookies processing is also ignored.
  23. 2. In some cases remote images cannot be fetched as the Urls are incomplete and there is no <base> header tag coded.
